Having trouble

Sooo I’m trying to find good sources on Artemis, Poseidon, and Apollo. I’m looking for information about them personally, good choices in offerings, things that offend them, communication techniques…

My library is fucking useless in this department because if you put in Artemis? Motherf’ing artemis fowl for 23 million pages. Poseidon? Percy Jackson -____- I gave up and never even tried with Apollo. So I reach out to the lovely people of tumblr. Any suggestions on material? Or even personal experiences with them as a diety in your day to day? Any and all help would be appreciated :)

Just had my best friend do a reading for me (his first and my first being fine by another person) and we both got pretty interesting spreads. Looking forward to the challenges to face

Life

So, again as I do everything I pop in and out of her at the speed of light, I apologize profusely for my absence (for those who have actually noticed haha).

I started working full time at Macy’s about… 5 miles from my house and have been working near 40 hours a week. But on top of that, I got a promotion that kept me at the same amount of hours but wonkier hours. I don’t get that mid shift ever where i would be able to sleep in and not have to close. So either I’m in early or there real late, which sucks but all and all I don’t hate the job. I have an awesome manager and I love a challenge, and I just became the specialist for the poorest performing area in Housewares (Which is now 7,000 dollars up from Last Year since I became specialist buahahaha)

As for pagan-y things… well, I feel like a terrible pagan because I have had so little time to devote to anything to do with it because of the adjustment to my new schedule. I usually spend lunch reading something or other related to it, or flipping around my tarot cards. I read an article about that was entitled something to the effect of “But you don’t look pagan enough” and it kind of talked about the everyday wear that most of us have (not many have that pointed hat on when they go to the grocery store from what I’m aware…). It kind of gave me some introspection on the idea that I was holding that I was being an awful pagan since I didn’t have the time to do the things that I want to do but the article helped me kind of see that I only have so many hours in the day and it made me feel less alone. I want to try and make it a habit to maybe meet with the local meet up pagan group in my area or to meditate (I find it personally helpful, I know its not everyone’s bag) or even just light a candle and commune. I’m still exploring what my path 100% entails and if I don’t give it the time, it isn’t going to blossom out in front of me.

On the going vegan front, I am still making headway and haven’t taken the final plunge. I think Samhain may be the perfect time to do it, with it being the start of the pagan year, and it gives me time to really get myself 100% prepared (kitchen wise). I’m at like…. 98% vegan, if I were to try and percent it out. I eat a primarily plant based diet except for cheese randomly here or there (cheese is legit like crack). I got a great book which is an interatctive planner to get you to be solidly vegan for 12 weeks, with a variety of meal plans, places to write how you are feeling, keep track and make sure that you are establishing HEALTHY vegan roots (nothing worse than a junk food vegan) nutritionally, and gives a bunch of pantry lists and wonderful sounding recipes (one of thiem is a sun-dried tomato risotto.. oh my goodness it sounds delectable). But a question for the vegan people reading this: Have you tried Nutritional Yeast? Was it okay, and what brand do you recommend if you liked it? If you aren’t vegan or haven’t had it before just ignore that little plea for help :)

Well, this is my life, welcome to it everybody! I really want to be more consistent with my logging on and talking to people so if you want to stop by, have a chat or anything of that nature please feel free to message me! I love meeting new people, and I sure as HELL miss all of the old ones.

Much Love from, Aidan

I BEAT YOU THIS TIME SANDY BUHAHA

Even if you aren’t sandy come and chat :)

Handfasting on a special day! Well night…

Just looked at the lunar calendar and my fiance and I are getting married on a blue moon! :D

So my question, to my pagan followers and non followers alike: Is there any special lunar lore or energies with the blue moon for the handfasting? Positive or negative?

Can’t wait to hear the responses!

Land, Sea and Sky: Permanent Circle Making 101

thewildway:

I just went out today and started to construct a circle in the woods, one that I plan on making my sacred space while I’m at home from college. I learned some things and thought I would share.

Circles are special areas of land carefully selected and chosen as your personal sacred space. They are…

These are all FANTASTIC tips (Especially on the tick front haha). I have always liked the idea of having a permanent circle or ritual space as my altar is in an awkward space in my room but I don’t have room for it anywhere else. Anyone else ever thought of or have a permanent space in nature that they practice?

Just finished my esbat

I really hope the God and Goddess are not picky with their wine…

Because that was some SKANKY ass wine. Apparently it was a lot older than I thought >.<

Thinking very much

about going completely vegan. I don’t eat meat, don’t use butter or mayo don’t drink milk, don’t eat eggs and I’ve severely lowered my cheese consumption. I am not a label nazi with milk and eggs though, at least I haven’t been. I am getting more and more aware and taking the time to read the labels on everything and being more and more surprised by the amount of food consumed that slides dairy into their products. Its irritating. I have been describing myself as a vegetarian with vegan-like tendencies but haven’t made the full plunge. I definitely like the way my body feels when I eat more towards vegan than vegetarian.

Now, my choices of food have not been born of my Pagan path, but out of health reasons. I also haven’t brought my diet choice into my craft at any point. I have no qualms with vegan pagans or meat eating pagans, it is YOUR choice. I have heard some vegans on the path say that they feel it brings them closer to nature and that it follows their “harm none” philosophy (which I also understand not all pagans believe or follow). I have also heard the point from a meat eater than by eating meat they feel closer to the God and by eating plants feels closer to the Goddess; so by being omnivorous they feel that they are more balanced in their path.

My question, unto you my followers and fellow pagans. Where does your loyalty lie (food wise), has that choice been born at all of your choice to follow a pagan path and any commentary on the dietary choices impacting your chosen path. I look forward to your responses! If it is too long, feel free to put your answer in my ask box :)

a question for you!

apagansquest:

How do you pray?

Do you pray outloud? While doing stuff around the house or while working? Do you pray in your head?

I do all three.

How do you pray?

This is a great question! I personally do daily prayers during the day, but will sometimes pray out loud in certain situations.

How about you followers?

I haven’t been veiling recently (or as often) to see the difference.

HOLY DIFFERENCE IN MOOD AND CHOICES! I’m sluggish, tired, scatterbrained…. I eat better when I wear my veil because it helps to keep my brain making choices that make sense.

The only time I do not veil usually is sleep and when I exercise, at least not as veiled as I normally am. I wear a headband in each scenario to kind of help. I must say now though that this experiment has really shown me the difference for me :)

Peace-Weaver: Paganism and Gardens

wealhtheow:

If you are a Pagan and find it difficult to summon the motivation to practice, or if you are still in the broom closet in a household of people that would not tolerate your religion, or even if the Sabbats just don’t really have any personal meaning for you, then I highly recommend starting a…

Maintaining the Balance: Introduction to Oils

maintain-balance:

I was going to just jump in and start with a recipe for one of my favorite Oils for protection. Then I realized that maybe you, dear reader, don’t know how to make your own Oils! This is a novel idea for me since I’ve been making my own oils for a long time. In fact…I think it was one of the first…
